To add a Special Factor:
- Open the Special Factors application.
- Under Print/View Report For, specify whether you are adding a special factor to for an Account or a List.
- Select the Account or List
- In the Effective Date/Time boxes, specify the period that the special factor will effect.
- Click the Edit Icon.
The Current Factors dialog box is opened.
- In the Current Factors list, select the Remote Unit(s) to which the special factor will be applied and then click Add.
You can select multiple Remote Units by pressing the Ctrl key while you make selections from the list.
The Sepcial Factors: Add dialog box appears.
- Configure the new special factor using the following options:
In the Effective Date/Time box, enter the date the new special factor is initialized.
To use an existing Unit as the basis for your Operator(s) and Factor(s) values, click the arrow and select one from the Unit list (under
the Unit group). The boxes are filled with the unit values.
You can add a new Unit, and then use it as the basis for the new special factor.
If you are not using an existing Unit as the basis for you Operator(s) and Factor(s) values, you must enter the specific values in the
Operator(s) and Factor(s) boxes. All Factor and Operator fields must be completed.
If you are only using 1 factor, you could enter * in the Operator 2 box and 1 in the Factor 2 box.
(Optional) In the Description box, enter a description for the new special factor, for example, "Monthly BTU Conversion".
- Click OK.
The new special factor is added to the Current Factors list. If it is outside the time period you specified in Step 4, the new entry is displayed in red text.
