Setting Up the Nuisance Limit for a Hardware Alarm

There are certain hardware alarms that are "non-maskable;" that is, the hardware alarms are always active and you are only permitted to
customize the name (user description). When you select one of these hardware alarm types, (from the Hardware alarm list), the
Immediate alarm notification check box and Nuisance limit box, (under Alarm Specification), appear dimmed and are unavailable
         for modification.
DC 2009 allows you to setup the nuisance limit for any customizable alarm. For example: one of your Remote Units is having difficulty
retrieving data from an input and is triggering a KYZ Alarm. You know that a technician will not be able to visit the site for another two
weeks. You can set the KYZ nuisance limit to an unusually high value that will guarantee that the data is received, and that the alarm will not
be disabled until it has been triggered the number of times set in the nuisance limit.

To set up the Nuisance Limit for a Hardware Alarm:
  1. Open the Remote Unit Configuration application.
  2. In the Available Remote Units list, select the Remote Unit.
Use the Search Engine utility to find a particular Remote Unit or group of related Remote Units
  3. Click the Edit Icon.
The View Remote Unit dialog box appears.
  4. Click the Hardware Alarms tab.
  5. In the Hardware alarm list, select the hardware alarm for which you want to set up the nuisance limit.
  6. If not selected, select Immediate alarm notification.
  7. In the Nuisance limit box, click the arrows and set the nuisance limit.
  8. Click the Apply button.
