Configuring a Remote Unit Input to Monitor Daily Volume Consumption

DC 2009 allows you to configure a low and high Remote Interval (TTI) Consumption limit. When the consumption falls below the low limit or exceeds the high limit at the end of the day, based on the daily read hour, an alarm is triggered and the Remote Unit calls in and logs the alarm to the System Alarm table.

Let's assume that a particular Remote Unit input has a 10 lb. regulator limit. You would probably set the high limit to 10 and perhaps the low limit to 3. This would ensure that an alarm is logged to the System Alarm table, (after the Remote Unit has completed its interval calculations), if the consumption exceeds 10 lb. or falls below 3 lb.
To configure a Remote Unit input to monitor daily volume consumption:
  1. Open the Remote Unit Configuration application.
  2. In the Available Remote Units list, select the Remote Unit.
Use the Search Engine utility to find a particular Remote Unit or group of related Remote Units
  3. Click the Edit Icon.
The View Remote Unit dialog box appears.
  4. Click the Input Description tab.
  5. In the Remote Unit Inputs list, select the input that you want to monitor remote interval consumption and click the Configure button.
  6. Click the Feasibility Checking tab.
  7. Select the Enable check box for Remote Daily Volume High and Remote Daily Volume Low.
The selected Remote Unit input is referenced in the label. For example, if you select input 2 the label will read "Remote Daily
          Volume High Input 2."
  8. In the Limits box for Remote Daily Volume High, enter the appropriate value (for our exmaple, this would be 10).
It is important to know the units in which the selected input is monitoring when you set the high limits and the low limits.
  9. In the Limits box for Remote Daily Volume Low, enter the appropriate value (for our exmaple, this would be 3).
  10. Click OK.
