The Sensus Configuration application is designed to setup and maintain Sensus Meter Interface Units (MIU)s. The MIU comes in different models. This application is designed to handle models, 205 and 210. The MIU has two ports, which monitor Electronic Communication Indexes (ECI). These indexes are used to relay the current index reading of the meter to which it is attached.
An individual MIU may monitor up to sixteen (16) Electronic Communication Indexes (inputs). Port Expanders are necessary when more than two ECI's are attached.
- Add a Meter Interface Unit (MIU) to the system
- Delete a Meter Interface Unit
- Configure a Meter Interface Unit in the system
- Add additional Electronic Communication Index (ECI)
- Delete an Electronic Communication Index
- Add or Change a Field Unit for the ECI
A Meter Interface Unit (MIU) is a piece of hardware in the field located in close proximity to the Electronic Communication Index (ECI). The MIU calls the DC 2009 System at a predetermined time and reports the values of all the indexes attached to it. The DC 2009 system updates the Daily Meter Readings and waits for the next call. The MIU must be configured before calling with the first set of data.
When you add a Meter Interface Unit to the system, an Account with the same ID is also created. The user may track information via reports based on this Account number.
